New brand identity for the German Athletics Association wins top prize

At the German Brand Award 2024, ONE8Y was awarded both “Gold for the Brand Design Relaunch of the German Athletics Association (DLV)” and “Special Mention for the Brand Strategy of the Year” in the “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation” category. This double success confirms our expertise in excellent brand strategies as well as creative design and shows how outstandingly our team worked across all departments for the DLV relaunch.

The particular challenge in realigning the DLV brand identity was to develop a brand that both meets the modern requirements of sport and also preserves the tradition and values of the DLV. Almost 17 years after the last brand relaunch, the corporate design and corporate identity, including a new logo, were not only revised, but various subject areas were also comprehensively redesigned. In addition, various existing concepts and campaigns of the association were adapted to the current design. This enabled ONE8Y to create a design and brand strategy that is both visually impressive and strategically sound. The German Brand Award, initiated by the German Design Council and judged by a high-profile panel of experts, is one of the most prestigious awards in the industry.
